About Ngozi:

Ngozi Amadi, LPC, is a licensed professional counselor specializing in anxiety and depression therapy. She is a dedicated member of the Best Empathy platform, where she provides support to clients from diverse backgrounds. With over 10 years of experience in the field, Ngozi has been deeply influenced by her cultural heritage as an Igbo American, driving her to address the unique mental health challenges faced by individuals within her community. Her work is focused on reducing stigma around mental health and providing culturally sensitive care to those who need it most.

Education/Training:

Ngozi Amadi attended the University of Maryland for 4 years and completed a Bachelor of Arts degree with a major in Psychology and minor in Sociology. She went on to the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and completed her four year Master’s of Science program in Clinical Psychology. During her time in her masters program she focused on researching mental health practices and how it pertained to the African American community. She stayed at MIT and is currently completing her doctorate with the same research focus working within the African American community.

Mental Health Experience:

Ngozi has worked in a wide array of institutions within the mental health field in her over 13 years of experience. She has worked with at-risk adults, in school settings, and within the private practice settings. Her key areas of focus are working with culturally diverse populations with an emphasis on the Asian American community. She uses her experiences from the various settings she worked within to help clients in the best ways possible.
